British Man Dies After Being Crushed on Ship in Rough Waters

According to an article published by The Metro, a British man died after being crushed trying to secure a dinghy to a ship in Australia.

What happened?

The 46-year-old man was initially thought to have fallen overboard but it was later revealed that he had been crushed.

During the time of the incident, the man was 19 miles off Magnetic Island during rough waters.

No foul play suspected

Townsville Police Tactical Services Group Inspector Sean Dugger told the Townsville Bulletin that the man had been working as a skipper on the ship. Despite rescue attempts, he was unable to be revived.

His death is not being treated as suspicious. Mr. Dugger said: “The ship’s skipper appeared to crushed by a tender which he had been trying to secure during rough conditions.”
