Broekman Logistics has announced it is selling the port terminal Distriport in Oostenhaven, Port of Rotterdam, to its neighbor CLdN, the Belgian-Luxembourg maritime and logistics group of the Cigrang family.
Strategic Fit
Distriport covers a 22-hectare site and includes 630 meters of quay, container transshipment and storage facilities, 50,000 cu m of covered warehouses, transshipment options for general cargo, high and heavy lift, and a railhead with 1.4 kilometers of track. The acquisition offers CLdN the opportunity to further expand and diversify its range of services.
“While Distriport has a clear strategic fit with CLdN’s activities, it is less in line with Broekman Logistics’ strategic focus as an industry specialist in machinery, industrial and chemicals,” said Flows Rik Pek, managing director of Broekman Logistics.
Broekman Logistics simultaneously announced investments in its Project Services terminal in Rotterdam-Heijplaat, which is being converted into a quayside location for assembly and technical services for industrial and marine equipment as well as heavy machinery.
