Cargo Ship Adrift Near Haida Gwaii

A cargo ship from Alaska is reported to have broken down on Tuesday. The broken ship is drifting near the west coast of Haida Gwaii. The Coast Guard responded immediately to the distress call by dispatching a ship to assist the disabled cargo vessel.
Victoria Joint Coast Guard said, “ a deep-sea cargo ship from Alaska, broke down at about 10 a.m. PT, 50 nautical miles off the west coast of Haida Gwaii.”
All the 27 crew members were on board the ship. A rescue vessel along with a tugboat has been sent to assist the vessel.
