Brunvoll Mar-El has been selected to provide a cutting-edge parallel hybrid solution for a new 32-meter search and rescue (SAR) vessel. This vessel, set to be the largest of its kind along Norway’s coast, will be constructed at GOT Marine AS in Mandal and is expected to be completed by 2026.

Significance of the Project

The new SAR vessel will operate in the challenging northern regions of Norway, where the weather and sea conditions are among the harshest in the world. The hybrid system from Brunvoll Mar-El will play a crucial role in ensuring the vessel’s performance and reliability in these demanding environments.

Innovative Hybrid System

The hybrid solution from Brunvoll Mar-El will include an Energy Management System and DC Switchboard from the Triton Hybrid product line. The system will also feature electric motors, inverters, and batteries, all integrated seamlessly with propulsion and gear control systems. The Triton CPP, Triton steering gear, and Triton thruster control systems will be instrumental in managing the vessel’s propulsion. Additionally, the vessel will be equipped with the latest Brunvoll BruCon DP and Joystick solution, designed to provide precise control tailored to the vessel’s specific needs.

Future Prospects

This contract is part of a broader trend of expanding deliveries by Brunvoll Mar-El, which is currently experiencing strong growth. Based in the southern part of Norway, the company is positioning itself as a leader in advanced marine solutions.
