On October 22, the much-awaited Grand Hall in Shanghais North Bund hosted the 2024 North Bund International Shipping Forum. The event allowed various key trends, challenges, and collaborative opportunities within international trade and logistics to be on full display, reports Baltic Exchange.

Collaboration and Connectivity in Global Supply Chains

The opening panel of discussions for the event was held under the title “Joint Response – Integration, Connectivity, Empowerment. Discussions were led by a host of distinguished speakers who addressed strategic approaches to global supply chains to assure safe and efficient flows. As Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, Jin Yu Cheong led the discussion by presenting strong arguments on resilience and connectivity in Asia’s shipping. His focus was on improving stability and efficiency across the regional supply chains through this activity.

Visioning a Resilient and Inclusive Future

In general, panellists seemed to agree that open inclusive networks foster resilience, security, and mutual benefit in global trade. Such a discussion brings forth innovative ideas as it unlocks suggestions from experts regarding building a stronger, connected, and future-proof supply chain.

For the second successive year, the 2024 North Bund International Shipping Forum cemented Shanghai as the first choice to present leadership ideas on global trade. This year, the city confirmed all efforts in promoting thought exchange and partnership within the shipping industry and underlined Baltic Exchange’s drive to provide wider connectivity and resilience within its supply chain network worldwide.
