Bulk Carrier Collides With a Cargo Ship While Entering Port

On October 19th, a general cargo vessel collided with a bulk carrier.  Both the vessels were entering the port of Dardanelles from the Aegean Sea.

The cargo vessel was en route from Iskenderun Turkey to Kerch Ukraine, Black sea and the bulk carrier was en route from Suez to Bandirma Turkey, when the incident happened.

Due to the impact of the collision both the vessels suffered severe damages and the cargo vessel was confirmed with a damaged bow.

Both vessels were taken to safe anchorage for further survey, no risk of sinking or pollution was reported.  An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
