Up to five merchant ships were seen anchored near Burnie Port on Sunday as they made way for the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship.
The bulk carriers included those used for logs, woodchips and fertiliser.
The Norwegian Jewel arrived at 11am and left at 6pm.
Burnie hosted six cruise ships in the last week with two cruise ships docked simultaneously on Wednesday and Friday.
The next cruise ship to come to Burnie, the Astor, will arrive on Friday.
There were 32 cruise ships scheduled to stop in Burnie during the 2017-18 season, up from 16 ships the previous season.
TasPorts was contacted for comment.
