False fire alarm was raised that a bulk carrier suffered fire on Sep 7, at Izmir anchorage, Turkey, Aegean sea, says an article published in Maritime Bulletin.
What happened?
The ship arrived at Izmir anchorage on Sep 6, from Odessa Ukraine, in load, having on board most probably, cargo of agricultural product, grain or something.
Photos emerged in social nets showing the ship with clouds of smoke in cargo holds area. To view the photos click here
As it came out, there was no fire on board, fumigating fumes were mistook for smoke.
