Capesize bulk carrier interrupted voyage to Hedland to medevac Filipino Master, writes Mikhail Voytenko for MARITIME BULLETIN

What happened?

Capesize bulk carrier STAR GINA 2GR on Oct 13 interrupted her voyage from China to Port Hedland Australia while transiting Lombok Strait, and anchored at southern Bali island anchorage, requesting immediate medical assistance. 

Medical Evacuation

Master of the ship, understood of Filipino nationality, lost conscience, his skin turned pale and blue. He was medevaced by the SAR team on an RHIB and transferred to the hospital. 

As of 0400 UTC Oct 14, the ship remained anchored.
