Bunker Sales in Panama Fell by 19.2% in November 2020

According to Panama Maritime Authority (PMA), bunker sales in Panama fell by about 19.2% on year in November 2020, says an article published in Manifold Times.

Fall in bunker sales

Following several months of continued growth, bunker sales in Panama fell sharply in November 2020.

According to the latest data from La Autoridad Marítima de Panamá, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA), Bunker sales at Panama fell by about 19.2% in November 2020.

Total bunker sales

Total bunker sales at Panama was 363,735 metric tonnes (mt) in November, compared to sales of 450,193 mt during the similar period in 2019.

Pacific side of Panama 

In November 2020, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales 313,156 mt; 61,126 mt of RMG 380 was sold, 10,132 mt of marine gas oil (MGO), and 28,696 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

Sales year before

The similar region saw total sales of 340,065 mt a year before in November; with RMG 380 sales of 296,438 mt, MGO sales of 34,457 mt, and 9,170 mt of LSMGO being sold.

VLSFO added to fuel category

The latest data for the Pacific side introduced a new VLSFO 0.5% marine fuel category which recorded 220,385 mt of sales in November.

Panama’s Atlantic side

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded sales of 50,579 mt during November 2020; 3,789 mt of RMG 380 was sold, MGO recorded no sales and 7,183 mt of LSMGO were delivered.

It saw total sales of 110,128 mt in the similar period a year before; with RMG 380 sales of 93,204 mt, MGO 15,454 mt and LSMGO recorded sales of 1,470 mt.

VLSFO sales in Atlantic

The newly introduced VLSFO 0.5% recorded 39,607 mt of sales at the Atlantic.
