Cadeler Expands Fleet With Advanced Wind Turbine Installation Vessel

51

Cadeler is set to enhance its fleet with the addition of a third A-class Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV), designed by GUSTO NG-20000X. The vessel, one of the largest in the offshore wind market, will be equipped with advanced technology from Kongsberg Maritime, furthering Cadeler’s capabilities in offshore wind farm installation.

Kongsberg’s Advanced Technology Integration

Kongsberg Maritime will supply a comprehensive package, including electrical, automation, and propulsion systems for the new vessel. The system includes nine thrusters with fixed-pitch propellers, dynamic positioning (DP) systems, and a battery-hybrid electrical setup that optimizes energy efficiency, reducing the number of engines needed during operations.

Significance for Offshore Wind Industry

The vessel’s advanced technology and substantial payload capacity are designed to meet the growing demand for larger turbines and more efficient offshore wind installations. Cadeler’s continued investment in state-of-the-art vessels, supported by Kongsberg’s cutting-edge technology, positions the company as a leader in the offshore wind market.

Cadeler’s Fleet Expansion

With the addition of this new A-class vessel, Cadeler’s fleet will include a mix of P-class, M-class, and A-class ships, with the latest vessel expected to be delivered by H1 2027. This expansion reflects Cadeler’s commitment to supporting global sustainability goals by advancing offshore wind energy capabilities.
