Capital Ship Management Corp. (“Capital”) has successfully taken delivery of two advanced crude oil/product carriers, M/T Aisopos (ΑΙΣΩΠΟΣ) and M/T Aiolos (ΑΙΟΛΟΣ). Built by New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) in China, these vessels each have a deadweight of 115,621 tons and have been assigned the prestigious 100A1 classification by Lloyd’s Register, ensuring strict compliance with safety, construction, and operational standards.

Environmental and Technological Innovations

Both vessels are designed to meet modern environmental regulations and operational efficiency requirements. They are the first newly built tankers to be equipped with certified Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) systems, enabling cold ironing technology for reduced emissions. Their inclusion of a shaft generator enhances their Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), and Daily Fuel Oil Consumption (DFOC). Fully compliant with IMO’s EEDI Phase III standards, they are also LNG-ready, ensuring long-term sustainability in energy transition. Additional features such as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for large pumps and fans, a high-efficiency rudder, and cybersecurity certification by Lloyd’s Register further improve operational efficiency and security.

A Milestone for the Greek Maritime Sector

M/T Aisopos and M/T Aiolos proudly sail under the Greek flag, marking a significant achievement as the first Greek-flagged vessels delivered by NTS. Their introduction reinforces Greece’s role in global shipping and reflects Capital Ship Management’s commitment to advancing maritime technology and sustainability.

Celebrating a Landmark Achievement

The delivery of these vessels was celebrated with a special event attended by high-ranking executives from Capital, representatives from New Times Shipbuilding, and key figures from the maritime sector. The occasion underscored the importance of these technologically advanced additions to Capital’s fleet and their contribution to the evolution of environmentally responsible shipping.
