Cargo Ship Collides and Sinks a Boat, Seventeen Missing

On early Saturday, a Chinese fishing boat collided with a Maltese cargo ship and sank with 19 people on board in the East China Sea.  Two people were rescued later by a passing boat and seventeen others are still missing.

Local media reported that the 40,485 ton bulk carrier, Catalina, continued sailing after the collision and did not specify any specific location of the incident.

Reports said that a search and rescue operation was still underway.
