General cargo ship SPLENDOR TAIPEI contact pier while unmooring at Taichung Port, Taiwan, at night Nov 10, in rough weather conditions, reports Maritime Bulletin.
The ship’s bow sustained serious damages, including hull breach and water ingress.
The ship was assisted by tugs and later shifted to another berth, she remained at the port, for repairs and investigation. Pier also suffered serious damages.
