Cargo Ship Crashes into a Bridge – Watch the Video!

On May 13, a cargo vessel, Madares, transporting coal hit old chalkis bridge at Halkida, Evia, at around 12.45 am (Greek local time).

The ship was enroute from Aliveri, Evia, to Volos on mainland Greece when the incident took place.

The vessel and the bridge sustained damages, the complete nature and extent of damage is still unknown.  The report says that all eight crew members are safe with no injuries.

The 57 year old captain has been reportedly detained, while an investigation is underway.

The Madares is anchored north of the bridge while the video of the crash is doing the rounds on the internet.
