1783

On 30th March, the cargo ship “Seiryu Maru” ran aground in the Tsushima Strait, on a small islet stretch north of Karatsu, Kyushu Island.

As seen in the vesseltracker, the ship ran aground around 1am midnight while it was heading towards Osaka, from Nagasaki.

The foreship was breached and some compartments were flooded, which made it difficult to keep it afloat. After much of a hassle the crew was able to refloat the ship and it was taken to Fukuoka.
