A general cargo ship named Avangard ran aground in Tsimlyansk Reservoir in river Don, Russia.  The cargo vessel was en route from Asrtakhan to Rostov with 2,929 tons of fertilizers on board.  The vessel reportedly ran into mechanical failure after the shipping line was lost and got stuck on the shallow with the bow.  The efforts taken by the crew to refloat the ship failed and the local authorities were notified.

Shortly after the local authorities were notified, the authorities and inspectors surveyed the ship for any failure.  All the members onboard the crew were rescued safely and no injuries were reported.  The ship did not suffer any serious damages but there are reports of pollution to the environment due to oil spill.  After the ship is salvaged, the vessel will be refloated and inspected of the underwater area of the hull before it returns to service.
