Two boats and a diver reportedly responded to the incident after the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center notified the Port Authorities of Rhodes and Halki.

No one suffered injuries and there was no evidence of marine pollution. Authorities stated that no water had entered the ship, which carried 10.000 tons of fertilizer.

The ship in question wasn’t allowed to leave the port of Halki, where the preliminary investigation is taking place, until the damage is rectified and the classifier in charge of it presents the required certificate.
