A cargo vessel en route from Rotterdam to Odense ran aground in the early hours of 9 December near the main terminal at the north end of Funen’s Odense Fjord. The area is known for its narrow route and shallow waters, posing navigational challenges, reports Safety4Sea.
Response Efforts Underway
Three vessels are sent to the site in order to ground the situation. These include two tugs and a pollution control vessel that are working together in refloating the stranded cargo vessel away from the surrounding environment from the impact of potential risks.
Status as of Latest Update
The stranded vessel is still in its position in the fjord as of the last reported update. Efforts are in place to solve the matter.
