Cargo Vessel Runs Aground in River Volga

On July 29, a cargo vessel reportedly ran aground in a river.

What happened?

The general cargo vessel ‘KUDMA 4’ ran aground on 202 kilometer mark in the morning in the river Volga, Russian Inner Waterways.

The ship was enroute from St Petersburg to Tver city, Volga river when the incident occurred.

Vessel refloated:

The grounded vessel was refloated by its crew members without any assistance by noon.

It shortly set sail and proceeded towards its destination.

None injured:

Fortunately, during the the incident no one injured and no pollution to the environment was reported.

The vessel also reported no significant damages and is set to be inspected at its destination port.
