A cargo ship sinks in Flores sea, reports Maritime Bulletin.

Cargo ship sinks

General cargo ship PERMATA ASIA sank on May 7 north of Sangeang island, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, Lesser Sunda islands, Indonesia.

The loaded ship with cement reported water ingress in engine room and headed for Sangeang island, probably in hope of running aground to avoid sinking.

Crew rescued

Some 2 nm off northern coast of island, engine died, and the ship sank. All 18 crew rescued, all are safe.
