A cargo vessel that was beached at a shallow part of a coast for past three days is still stuck there.

What happened?

A cargo vessel reportedly beached at a shallow part of a coast here for the past three days after the ship tried to dock at Plaridel port on New Year’s Evening.

Petty Officer 2 Charly Maghanoy said, “The M/V Euro Uno is still stuck 50 meters off the shore of Plaridel after strong waves diverted it away from the port when it tried to dock due to bad weather”.

There are no signs of an oil spill and neither was the vessel punctured when it crashed, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

The ship that came from Iligan City and was bound for Siquijor is loaded with 3,500 sacks of pollard feeds, and 900 sacks of flour.

The Euro Uno Company has sent a tugboat to tow the ship off the coast, but operations have yet to begin as high tide has yet to set in.
