Carnival Corp. has revealed plans to order a fifth Excel-class ship for Carnival Cruise Line, just six weeks after announcing the order for the fourth one, reports Travel Weekly.

Construction Details

Meyer Werft will construct the ship at its Papenburg yard in Germany, with an expected delivery date in 2028.

Specifications

The new ship, like its predecessors, will be a 180,000-gross-ton vessel powered by liquefied natural gas, designed to accommodate over 6,400 guests and 1,800 crew members.

Name

Similar to the fourth Excel-class ship, the fifth one is yet to be named. They commence operations for the fourth ship in spring 2027.
