Cavotec To Deliver MoorMaster® Vacuum Mooring System To Moroccan Container

12

Cavotec has signed a €5 million contract with a leading port operator in Morocco to supply its MoorMaster® automated vacuum mooring system to a container terminal. The agreement includes delivery by September 2026 and features a two-year service level agreement, strengthening Cavotec’s role in modernizing and decarbonizing port operations globally.

Enhancing Terminal Efficiency and Safety

The MoorMaster® system enables ships to moor using automated vacuum technology instead of traditional ropes, significantly reducing mooring time and improving vessel stability during loading and unloading operations. This allows faster, safer, and more efficient crane operations, reducing vessel turnaround time and enhancing terminal throughput.

This terminal already operates Cavotec technologies such as motorised cable reels, Panzerbelt cable protection systems, and power connectors, reflecting a strong existing partnership.

Strategic Significance and Industry Impact

This will be Cavotec’s second MoorMaster installation in Morocco, reinforcing its leadership in port automation across North Africa. CEO David Pagels noted that this project affirms Cavotec’s innovation and trusted relationship with forward-thinking terminal operators.

The deal underscores growing global demand for automated mooring in key logistics hubs and highlights Cavotec’s strategic push toward sustainable and electrified port infrastructure.

With this latest contract, Cavotec not only expands its footprint in Africa but also continues to drive decarbonisation and innovation in the maritime sector. The MoorMaster® system promises to transform mooring practices in Morocco, marking another step toward a more efficient and sustainable global port network.
