Two of the world’s largest shipping associations, BIMCO and the German Shipowners’ Association (VDR), are to chair the Motorship Propulsion & Future Fuels 2019 in Hamburg, Germany this November, reports Cruise&Ferry.net.
The wealth of knowledge to be shared
BIMCO’s Lars Pedersen and VDR’s Martin Kroeger will share their knowledge and experience at the event, which will be managed by Mercator Media.
“It’s an honour to have two of the largest shipping associations supporting our conference,” said Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling, events director at Mercator Media.
“The wealth of knowledge both chairmen will bring to the conference is unprecedented and we are looking forward to the event in November.”
Zero-emission vessels transition pathways
The conference will also feature a keynote speech from Carlo Raucci, a principal consultant at the University Maritime Advisory Services.
He will present a study on zero-emission vessels transition pathways, which will identify the necessary conditions to decarbonise the shipping industry.
Jasper Faber from environmental consultancy firm CE Delft will also speak about the year’s emission projections.
