Chimbusco Pan Nation supplied B24 blend to Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha’s (K Line) vessel in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong-based marine fuel supplier Chimbusco Pan Nation (CPN) supplied 700 mt of International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC)-EU certified UCOME-based B24 biofuel stem to M/V Cape Amal bulk carrier operated by K Line in Hong Kong.

CPN said the blend was composed of 76% VLSFO and 24% biofuel derived from used cooking oil (UCOME), with biofuel supplied by Hong Kong’s ASB Biodiesel.

The delivery was arranged by the bunker trading team of marine fuel supplier Peninsula, CPN added.

Focus on major global ports

Peninsula is focusing on major global ports with ample demand for alternative products such as biofuels, LNG and bio-LNG, said its head of alternative fuels and sustainability, Nacho de Miguel.

“We have seen increased activity [in alternative fuels] in the Western Mediterranean and ARA regions as well as an increase in very promising prospects through our network in Asia,” Miguel added.
