The Chinese government has assigned 4 million mt of VLSFO export quotas for bonded bunkering in 2024, marking the second round of allocation, according to data from information provider JLC.
China allocated 12 million VLSFO
This year, China has allocated a total of 12 million mt of VLSFO export quotas across two batches, slightly higher than 11 million mt assigned during the same period last year. The initial batch of 8 million mt was distributed around January this year.
The Chinese government has also allocated a second round of refined product export quotas totalling 14 million mt for 2024, covering gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel exports.
