China To Flag Development of 23 Logistics Hubs

  • China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Transport has issued a joint statement.
  • They issued notice to officially start the 2020 programme of national logistics hub construction.
  • The program initiated in 2019 is planning to develop 23 national-level logistics hubs.
  • Ten in east China, five in the central, seven in west China and one in northeast China.
  • The government will increase investment and financial supports to the logistics hub project.

According to an article published in Seatrade-Maritime News, China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Transport jointly issued notice to officially start the 2020 programme of national logistics hub construction.

23 national-level logistics hubs

The program was initiated in 2019, planning to develop 23 national-level logistics hubs.

  • Ten are located in east China: Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinhua( Yiwu), Linyi, Guangzhou, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Xiamen, Qingdao, Shenzhen;
  • Five in the central area: Taiyuan, Ganzhou, Zhengzhou, Yichang, Changsha;
  • Seven in west China: Ulanqab- Erenhot, Nanjing, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Lanzhou, Urumqi, and
  • One in Yingkou in northeast China.

Investment and financial support

The central government will increase investment and financial supports to the logistics hub project, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.

Meanwhile, the National Development and Reform Commission will start to draft the planning for logistics hub development during 2021-2025 in advance and plan to develop over 210 logistics hubs in the next five-year period.
