China’s coastal bulk freight index saw a 1.0 percent increase, reaching 1,091.23 for the week ending, reports English News.

Specifically, the coal sub-index rose by 1.3 percent, reaching 1,102.46, while the crude oil index climbed by 1.1 percent to 1,641.24.
Conversely, the refined oil index experienced a slight decline, dropping by 0.3 percent to 1,517.75 compared to the previous week.

The Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) introduced this index in 2001, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, to track fluctuations in China’s coastal transport market.
