China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) has launched the second LNG bunkering vessel it is building for Italian shipping group Fratelli Cosulich, says an article published on LNG Prime.

First quarter of next year

CIMC SOE floated out the 5,300-dwt dual-fueled LNG bunkering vessel, Paolina Cosulich (S1059), on June 26, according to Fratelli Cosulich.

The Chinese shipbuilder is expected to deliver this LNG bunkering ship with a capacity of 8,200 cbm of LNG and 500 cbm of MGO in the first quarter of next year.

Batch of two

CIMC SOE laid the keel for this vessel on March 22. During the same day, the shipbuilder launched the first ship in this batch of two, Alice Cosulich.

Both of the vessels feature Wartsila DF tech.

Fratelli Cosulich said the second vessel received 4 million euros ($4.37 million) from the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility.

Charter deal

The Italian firm recently signed a charter deal for the first LNG bunkering newbuild with Dutch LNG supplier Titan.

This vessel will start operating in Europe in the fourth quarter of this year.
