Clarksons is pleased to announce the opening of a new desk in Rio de Janeiro, further extending the company’s specialized service offering to clients in South America regarding the Deep Sea Tanker market. This further strengthens Clarksons’ global footprint and represents its seventh location for its Deep-Sea Tankers team, allowing it to enhance the ability of clients in the region, reports Clarksons.
Leadership by Seasoned Expert
Rio will be headed by Bruna Carvalho de Lima, a tanker industry expert with over 18 years of experience at oil major Petrobras. In her career, Bruna was involved with tanker operations in all main areas: time charts, spot markets, and projects. She headed teams in Brazil, Houston, the Netherlands, and Singapore, and completed over 500 contracts.
As a Manager of Tankers, in Brazil, Bruna will work closely with the Global Tanker Projects team. It will also lead the development of a full-service tanker. It offers and builds a team to meet specific local market demands.
A Strategic Expansion to Support Client Relationships
This new local office in Rio de Janeiro will strengthen the current relations with clients. It’s opening up new ones while the Clarkson Tanker division has been serving South American clients for years. The Rio desk is part of Clarksons’ strategic expansion in the region, ensuring that its clients receive enhanced support and expertise tailored to their needs.

Commenting on the appointment Bruna says: “South America is growing in significance within global markets due to shifting political and economic developments.
