ClassNK has released a new feature for its GHG Emissions Management Tool, ClassNK ZETA (Zero Emission Transition Accelerator), designed to enhance the management of maritime emissions. This tool supports compliance with FuelEU Maritime regulations and improves usability for users managing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships.
New Fuel EU Maritime Features
The updated ClassNK ZETA tool includes a new feature for managing FuelEU Maritime, which takes effect in 2025. Users can monitor fuel oil consumption, energy usage, GHG emissions, and GHG intensity for their fleet. It also allows users to manage compliance balances, including surplus and deficit, through banking, borrowing, and pooling. This functionality supports shipowners in meeting regulatory requirements efficiently.
Usability Enhancements
ClassNK has made significant usability improvements to ClassNK ZETA, consolidating features and enhancing visibility to make the tool more intuitive and user-friendly. These updates aim to provide a more convenient experience for users, helping them navigate the complexities of emissions management with greater ease.
Ongoing Commitment to Zero-Emission Transition
ClassNK continues to enhance its tools as part of the “ClassNK Transition Support Services,” which assist customers in transitioning to zero-emission operations. Future updates will include features to optimize fleet compliance balance using banking, borrowing, and pooling. ClassNK remains committed to supporting the maritime industry’s efforts to achieve sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
