CLdN has announced an increase in frequency and freight capacity on its Zeebrugge-Teesport route, responding to rising customer demand for reliable freight transport between mainland Europe and the UK’s North East and Scotland.
Key Service Enhancements
- Increased Sailings: Additional weekly round trip starting at the end of February.
- Higher Capacity Vessels: Deployment of larger RoRo ships to boost freight volume.
- Fleet Expansion: Two new large RoRo vessels to join CLdN’s fleet later this year, enhancing unaccompanied freight capacity across the North Sea while reducing CO₂ emissions.
Strategic Benefits for Customers
- Direct access to key UK hubs, including Teesport, Purfleet, and Killingholme (Humberside).
- ‘Last-mile’ logistics efficiency: Cargo can be placed in one Zeebrugge terminal for flexible shipping options.
- Sustainability Leadership: CLdN boasts the lowest CO₂ emissions among North Sea freight providers.
Commitment to Long-Term Growth
Florent Maes, CEO of CLdN, emphasized the company’s dedication to investing in fleet and port infrastructure:
“CLdN continues to invest heavily in both its fleet and port infrastructure, and we are glad to see increased customer support for our freight routes from Zeebrugge to East Coast UK. We were pleased to underline our long-term commitment of providing an extensive service to customers for shipping freight between the UK and EU at a meeting with the UK government Maritime Minister, Mike Kane MP, in Purfleet last week.”
