CLdN has placed an order for 10 new load-on/load-off (LoLo) container vessels, marking a major step in its expansion into the LoLo segment. These vessels, set for delivery starting in January 2027, will form part of CLdN’s dedicated Container Carrier fleet.

Innovative Vessel Design for Enhanced Efficiency

The newly ordered LoLo vessels will have a capacity of 1,100 TEU and are designed for outstanding fuel efficiency. Their open-top design aims to reduce port handling times, complementing CLdN’s existing fleet of over 30 roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessels.

Successful LoLo Launch and Expansion of Ireland Service

Earlier this year, CLdN introduced a successful LoLo service between Rotterdam and Ireland using chartered vessels. With the acquisition of the Distriport terminal, CLdN has expanded its offerings with a third weekly direct sailing between Rotterdam and Dublin, adding operational flexibility and faster turnaround times.

Building on Long-Term Partnership with HD Hyundai Mipo

The new vessels will be constructed by HD Hyundai Mipo in South Korea, a long-term partner of CLdN. Hyundai is also completing the construction of two 8,000-lane-meter RoRo vessels for CLdN, which are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2025.

CEO’s Vision for Long-Term Growth and Market Leadership

CLdN CEO Florent Maes emphasized that the new vessel order is key to realizing the company’s long-term growth ambitions. He highlighted that the expansion into the LoLo segment has been well received by customers and complements the company’s existing RoRo services.
