Maersk and CMA CGM have decided to extend the coverage of their Bossa Nova/SIRIUS service, connecting the Mediterranean to the East Coast of South America, adding a new call in the Brazilian port of Rio de Janeiro on its southbound leg, says an article published on container-news.
First updated port rotation
The 8,700 TEU container vessel Maersk Lota will be deployed on the first updated port rotation with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) at the port of Rio de Janeiro on 19 October.
The new port rotation of the service will be Algeciras (Spain) – Tanger Med (Morocco) – Salvador (Brazil) – Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) – Santos (Brazil) – Itapoa (Brazil) – Paranagua (Brazil) – Santos – Itaguai (Brazil) – Tanger Med – Algeciras.
Current schedule
“The addition of the port of Rio de Janeiro does not have any impact on the transit time/berth window of our current schedule for the remaining Brazilian ports,” said CMA CGM in its statement.
