CMA CGM shared important updates regarding the European Union’s Import Control System 2 (ICS2). This new system enhances customs risk management and improves security and safety risk analysis for goods entering the EU, impacting deep sea and short sea cargo. The deployment window for maritime and inland waterways carriers spans from June 3, 2024, to December 4, 2024, with CMA CGM scheduled to be prepared for ICS2 filing by November 2024.
Key Requirements for Entry Summary Declaration (ENS)
The ICS2 mandates the submission of additional data elements in the Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) for cargo entering the EU. This includes the 6-digits Harmonized System (HS) code for each commodity, buyer and seller information, or the EORI number of the supplementary declarant. Additionally, details such as the House Bill of Lading, EORI of the consignee, and the CUS code for chemicals must be provided. This comprehensive data submission aims to ensure thorough risk assessment and compliance.
