A Sustainable Collaboration

CMA CGM Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics, and WWF France have joined forces to decarbonize shipping and logistics, enhance the fight against illegal wildlife trafficking, and conserve maritime ecosystems. This partnership is in keeping with CMA CGM’s ambition to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2050, as well as the company’s numerous initiatives to decrease its environmental footprint and combat ocean pollution.

Three Major Outcomes

Maritime and Logistics, by identification of the most sustainable means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to undertake an aggressive decarbonization trajectory in keeping with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, in particular through the worldwide Science Based Target program.

Defend endangered species against illegal trade, by assisting the Group in its efforts to increase vigilance against this unlawful activity and helping to the creation of internal tools and procedures to handle it by 2023. The cooperation also intends to promote awareness about the issue and current solutions among its stakeholders and sector, thanks to the Group’s commitment and experience. 

Preservation and protection of marine ecosystems, with CMA CGM funding four sponsorship programs in the Mediterranean, South Africa, the Philippines, and the Arctic to preserve and conserve marine habitats.
