CMA CGM’s owned company Containerships has introduced its second LNG-powered ship Polarto optimize its Baltic service, says an article published in The Medi Telegraph.
Enhanced dimensions and high ice class
The dimensions and the high ice class of Containerships Polar will make it feasible to address the navigational and climatic challenges of its operational area in Northern Europe and the Baltics.
Best-in-class container intake
The ship provides a state-of-the-art container intake with an exceptional high intake of 40ft and 45ft pallet-wide high cube containers, thus emphasizing the company’s customer-oriented approach.
Maiden bunkering in Rotterdam
The vessel will carry out its first LNG bunkering out in Rotterdam at the end of June, where it will fuel an approximate of 200mt of liquefied natural gas via ship-to-ship bunkering.
The CMA CGM Group says it will operate 20 LNG-powered vessels by 2022.
