A unit of China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) has received the 500th cargo of liquefied natural gas at its Ningbo LNG import facility in Zhejiang, says an article published on LNG Prime.
Milestone cargo
CNOOC’s gas and power unit said in a statement that the 216,200-cbm Q-Flex LNG carrier, Al Thumama, delivered the milestone cargo to the LNG import plant on August 20.
The vessel owned by a joint venture consisting of Nakilat and NYK and chartered by Qatargas unloaded about 95,000 tons of LNG.
Regasification facility
Prior to arriving at the regasification facility in Zheijang, the LNG tanker loaded the shipment at the giant Qatari LNG export complex in Ras Laffan, its AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows.
800th LNG cargo produced
According to CNOOC Gas & Power, the Zhejiang LNG terminal has in total received 34.59 million tons of LNG, equivalent to 50.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas up to date.
Earlier this year, the facility also received the 800th LNG cargo produced at the Shell-operated Queensland Curtis LNG export plant in Australia.
LNG terminal in a joint venture
CNOOC’s unit operates the LNG terminal in a joint venture with Zhejiang Energy Group and Ningbo Development & Investment Group.
The facility has a regasification capacity of 6 mtpa and six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 960,000 cbm.
It also provides truck loading services.
