Coast Guard Comes To The Rescue Of Injured Ship Captain

The ship captain of the 274-meter-long motor transport suffered a leg injury aboard the vessel on Saturday off the southern New Jersey coast.  The call for help was responded by an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City.

The crew airlifted the captain and took him to a hospital. But the name of the captain was not revealed.  According to the officials, the vessel was 356 miles east of Cape May during the incident.  The captain was listed in stable condition.

The cause of the injury is not known.
