The new Shore-power system debuts at Lianyungang in China’s eastern coastal province of Jiangsu and is expected to cut down on shipping pollution.

- The Lianyungang power system claims to provide 1.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity to ships annually.

Its reported that Chinese authorities are working on methods to bring down shipping emissions from other ports, including Shanghai and Shenzhen.
