The bulk carrier, on its way from Cambodia to Singapore, collided with a fishing boat. It is reported that the bulker “immediately manoeuvred and returned to the area where it remained for further assistance.” Loaded with 56,550 MT of sand the bulk carrier did not incur any damage. Based on the instructions received from the Malaysian Coast Guard, the bulk carrier proceeded to Pulau Kapas for investigations after which it continues its journey.
The two fishermen in the fishing boat were rescued by the boats in the vicinity. The fishing boat is being towed to the Malaysian Coast. There is no reports of casualties or missing.
