Communication Loss After Blackout

On September 1, a vessel reportedly lost its communication after suffered a massive blackout. It is reported that the crew will be able to fix the engine once they get spare parts, which are to be shipped to disabled freighter.

What happened?

The vessel ‘Golden Destiny’ lost its communication after suffering a blackout in the South China Sea. The vessel was enroute from Belawan, northern Sumatra to Balikpapan, eastern Kalimantan.

Loss of communication:

The vessel ran into an engine failure which resulted in the ship losing its radio communication after suffering a major blackout.

The crew managed to get vessel moving using auxiliary engines and started proceeding towards Gosong Senggora in the Tanjung Putting area, where she will be anchored to carry out engine repairs, and resume the voyage.
