The 8,634 DWT container carrier ran aground near Kiel Holtenau, Germany.  The vessel rammed breakwater bank by starboard and stuck hardly.  The captain of the vessel sent a distress call requesting assistance.  The local authorities immediately responded to the call and dispatched two tugboats.  The tugs towed the vessel to safe depth, where it was anchored for underwater survey and inspection.

Reports say that the accident was caused by failure of the steering gear.  But the actual cause is not confirmed. Investigation is underway.

No injuries or pollution was reported.  The traffic on the waterway was not disturbed during the grounding and salvage operation.
