On May 6, a container ship allided with three ferries that were docked at a terminal pier in Santos port.
What happened?
The container ship ‘Santos Express’ was diverted out of the fairway while entering the Santos port and reportedly allided with three local ferries docked near the terminal pier.
Ferries damaged
The three ferries ‘FB-18’, ‘FB-19’ and ‘FB-28’ suffered serious damages as a result of the allision.
The container ship is currently berthed at DP World Santos Terminal. The ship was assisted by tugs, and it was not clear what caused her to stray off fairway.
An investigation has been initiated by the port officials to determine the cause of allision and to survey the damages.
