Container Ship Damaged Lock Installation During Mooring Manoever

On July 8, a Container ship damaged its lock installation during the mooring process.

What happened?

The Container ship was enroute from Rotterdam to Helsinki the spring of the “Perseus” broke during the mooring maneuver of the ship in the Brunsbuettel locks of the Kiel Canal at around 6.40 a.m.

Reports say that the broken wire smashed the box of a lamp on the lock. Fortunately there was no reports of injury.  The ship reportedly continued on the Eastbound voyage by 8.10 a.m.
