In July 2024, the Port Authority of Valencia released its latest statistical bulletin, highlighting continued growth in cargo and container traffic through the port. The data reveals an increase in overall goods handled and notable changes in specific export products and traffic patterns, reports Valenciaport.
Year-to-Date Performance
Up to July 31, 2024, Valenciaport has managed 3,169,288 TEUs, showing a significant increase of 12.74% over the same period last year.
The total weight of goods handled in the first seven months reached 47.61 million tons, up by 6.10%.
Annual Traffic Trends
Over the last twelve months, Valenciaport has moved 79.48 million tons and 5,155,084 TEUs, reflecting yearly increases of 5.56% and 8.62%, respectively.
Despite monthly decreases in bulk traffics, empty containers, and exports, there were notable rises in containerized general cargo, import containers, and transit containers.
Exports of iron and steel grew by 5.82%, and non-metallic minerals saw a substantial increase of 23.67%.
Product-Specific Traffic Trends
However, exports of vehicles, chemical products, and construction materials experienced declines of 9.07%, 1.77%, and 1.75%, respectively.
Overall, vehicles in cargo regime dropped by 9.07% compared to the same period last year.
