A container ship got pushed by a strong gust of wind and contacted Brunsbuettel lock, Kiel Canal, on Dec 11, reports Maritime Bulletin.
What happened?
Container ship CONMAR BAY, pushed by a strong gust of wind, contacted safety fenders while approaching northern lock at Brunsbuettel, Kiel Canal, completing her southbound transit early in the morning Dec 11.
Damages reported
Fenders and lock’s gate did not sustain any damages. CONMAR BAY suffered a starboard side railing dent at some 25 meters length, on a cargo deck.
Voyage resumed after inspection
The ship completed transit and was berthed at Brunsbuettel for inspection.
She resumed her voyage from Riga Latvia to Rotterdam early in the morning Dec 12.
