  • COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) delivered “DUNE,” the second of five 114,000 DWT product tankers built for Greek owner TMS Tankers.
  • The vessel is a sister ship to “LAMU,” delivered in May, and features advanced hull design, green compliance, and improved cargo capacity.
  • Designed to meet EEDI Phase 3 and CSR-H standards, the tanker reflects COSCO’s commitment to efficiency and environmental performance.

On June 27, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) officially delivered the 114,000 DWT product tanker “DUNE” to Greek shipowner TMS Tankers. This vessel is the second in a series of five ordered by TMS and follows the successful delivery of its sister ship, “LAMU,” in late May. The delivery marks another milestone in the collaboration between COSCO and TMS in building modern, efficient tankers.

Advanced Design and Green Compliance

“DUNE” is a series-built product tanker characterized by optimized performance and environmentally conscious design. The vessel measures 248.8 meters in length, 44 meters in width, and 21.5 meters in depth, with a design draft of 13.5 meters and a cruising speed of 14.3 knots. It utilizes a single-engine, single-propeller propulsion system.

The hull has undergone multiple rounds of optimization and includes propeller front ducts and vortex-eliminating fins. These enhancements help the vessel meet EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) Phase 3 standards, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Structural Enhancements and Increased Capacity

The vessel’s structure complies with the latest Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR-H). Through intelligent design and optimization, “DUNE” achieves greater deadweight tonnage and cargo hold capacity, further strengthening its commercial competitiveness in the global tanker market.
With the delivery of “DUNE,” COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry continues to demonstrate its shipbuilding expertise and commitment to high-performance, environmentally friendly vessels. The project highlights the ongoing partnership with TMS Tankers and sets a strong foundation for the remaining three vessels in the series.
