COSCO SHIPPING Lines partnered with BOE Technology Group to launch the Hi-ECO blockchain-based shipping product. This innovation incorporates traceable green certificates that document the use of biofuels in product transportation, aiming to accelerate decarbonisation efforts in the shipping industry.
Technology and Verification
Utilizing the Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN), the blockchain-enabled platform links Proof of Sustainability (PoS) Certificates with Green Certificates issued to corporations. This linkage ensures that each Green Certificate corresponds directly to a verified purchase of biofuel, enhancing transparency and credibility across the supply chain.
